Time and the Soul

This book deals spiritually with the time famine in our lives. Philosopher Jacob Needleman takes the reader through a series of spiritual self-inquiries to reach the root of our most common problem of "not enough time." By comparing himself with mythic figures from Greek, Indian, and other lore, the reader learns that his rushed side, the part of him always making promises for the sake of time, can make time move more slowly. Needleman shows how traditional words of the wise, "be in the moment, " "relax, " "mediate" don't help, but understanding what is eternal about life and work can change our relationship to time and our perception of it.
