Embracing You

This unique discussion book focuses on a child who is homeless. It exposes the importance of families finding housing quickly to avoid disruptions in the lives of children. According to HUD Annual Homeless Assessment Report, approximately 140,000 children, under the age of five, were considered homeless (HUD, 2020). Being homeless may present traumatic symptoms for some children. Therefore, an awareness of children's feelings, behaviors, and thoughts may affect their schooling.

Embrace, the main character of this book, is an eight-year-old homeless girl, who is in the second grade. Her mother recently ran into financial problems and now they are living out of a car. She is currently facing difficulties in school due to her situation and not able to figure out how to cope with problems.

Through this series, Embrace will find her inner beauty, learn school smarts, along with lots of coping skills.
