and her husband Ron DePol at 734 Fort Street, where it is today. Ron and Diana are now the owners of Russell Books Ltd. while their daughter Andrea, together with her husband Jordan, manage the company. In 2005 Diana's son Brandon and his wife Charlene helped start up yet another store, Books on View - a division of Russell Books, at 702 View Street, (under the Sayward Bulding at the corner of Douglas Street). And their son Chad handles all the Logistics for the two stores and the huge stockpile of books at the DePol Home!
The many family members, +40 staff, and two stores now offer over 13,000 square feet of new, used, antiquarian, and out-of-print books, as well as a unique selection of cards, journals, and calendars. Reg unfortunately passed away February 2007 in his 97th year. Reg loved books they were his passion. He sold his last store in Montreal (Diamond Books) in the fall of 2004. Until then he had been running it with the help of Diana's brother, John Russell. Little did he know that all his years of collecting books to open his 1st tiny bookstore in downtown Montreal some 44 years ago would develop into a 2nd and 3rd generation of book sellers.
Whether you are new to our city (Welcome!) or one of our regulars (Hi again!) the friendly staff at Russell's (and Books on View) are always eager to help you find great books.
